Our office undertook the development of a user-friendly, interactive digital historical map designed to highlight the historical and cultural heritage of Katerini. The project’s goal was to actively engage residents and visitors, strengthen local identity, and foster the “democratization of information” by providing open access to the city’s academic and historical resources.

Designed according to the principles of Urban Museology, the map transforms the urban fabric of Katerini into an “open-air museum.” It functions as a digital narrative aimed at helping users understand and interpret the city’s spatial and historical identity. Finally, it carries a significant social impact by empowering local identity and fostering a stronger connection between the citizens of Katerini and their shared history.
